LAUNCH OF NEW DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR PUBLIC SERVICES

Exciting News from the Department of Immigration & Civil Status (ICS) in partnership with the Department of Information Communications Technology (DICT).

In a press conference held today at the Ministry of Internal Affairs two new digital solutions designed to improve public services were introduced by the ICS team in collaboration with DICT

1.SEYID: Virtual ID Cards for Permit Holders and Seychellois Diaspora

Starting 17th September 2024, the department will transition from issuing physical ID cards for permit holders. Instead, permit holders will be urged registered on the SeyID platform and issued a virtual ID card.

How it works:

  • The process for obtaining an NIN remains the same but the applicant will be issued with an ID letter which has their assigned NIN
  • Permit holders can register for their virtual ID card by visiting the SeyID website and downloading the app after receiving their National Identity Number (NIN).
  • This service is also available to Seychellois citizens living abroad, who can register using their NIN card or ID letter along with their Passport.
This initiative helps reduce waste and better allocate resources, making ID issuance more sustainable while prioritizing Seychellois citizens.

2.CertExpress: Your Certificates, Just a Click Away!

We are also excited to launch CertExpress, a digital platform that allows Seychellois citizens to conveniently obtain birth, marriage and death certificates online. No more in-person visits simply request and in 2 working days receive your certificates through this easy-to-use platform! If you request your own birth or marriage certificate it will be saved in your E-Doc wallet on your SeyID app. The price of certificates remains the same at 50SCR.

Both SeyID and CertExpress are part of our ongoing efforts to modernize public services, improve efficiency, and embrace environmentally-friendly solutions. These platforms align with the government's mission to digitize essential services and make them more accessible to everyone.
