The roles and functions of the Airport Section in the protection of our national borders are paramount. Accounting for almost 53% of the Department’s workforce, our young men and women in uniform are steadfast in their effort to curb illegal immigration, combat transnational crime such as human trafficking, the trade in narcotics and the threat of terrorism. Together with other partners in law enforcement, our border agents at the ports of entry, endeavour to prevent criminals and suspected felons from entering the jurisdiction by means of passport control, passenger profiling and detection of fraudulent documents.
The officers derive their powers and carry out their duties in accordance with Immigration Law.
